ALS, 1845 June 8 : Santa Anita, [CA], to William Heath Davis in Buena Yerba.

Written from a rancho situated a few miles north of the Mission San Gabriel about eight or nine miles easterly from Los Angeles, Reid here says that a Captain Finch & McKinlay are: "here ... going ahead like steam-boats." He goes on to remind Davis of a promise to procure "Prussian blue peas and pearl barley."
